In Perspective is concerned with how we perceive size and importance, both physically and emotionally. As Einstein said, ‘Everything is relative’.
I am attracted to strong contrasts: light and dark, large and small, rough and smooth, near and far. Perspective may be seen as a form of contrast. It never ceases to amaze me how little sense of perspective we have.
In Western Society we seem constantly obsessed with trivia, while seemingly oblivious to the bigger picture. For example, having to deal with a minor domestic disaster such as a faulty electrical appliance can seem like a big issue, whereas many of us can easily put global warming to the back of our minds.
